Hello loves! 

I recently found some new hair products all under $30 at Walmart and after trying them out, I had to share them with you guys! They’re the “Wet2Style” products from Remington!

Today I wanted to talk about selfcare! Never heard of her? Is “selfcare” a friend that only comes around 10 minutes once a week? If so, same! Also, I feel you and I see you girl! Truth be told, I NEEDED this blog post for myself! Especially while I’m spending so much time at home.

BUT, who has time to work their job, and overtime, then work out, then grocery shop, THEN cook a healthy meal, and send some baked goods to a neighbor, then date/fall in love, marry the partner of your dreams, have kids, keep your kids alive, and pay your bills. Let me tell you who, NO ONE! (Unless you do. In which case, I applaud you!) Let me be transparent when I say in the Allen household, it takes a village! (A large village at that!) 

Most days I don’t have time to brush my teeth thoroughly. I stay up until 11 or 12 at night working so Chloé doesn’t have to go without her mum. I never go to the bathroom without my baby sitting on my lap. I try to wash my hair and keep up on my personal hygiene once a week! IT’S IMPORTANT! Now, I’m not trying to complain. I’m just explaining the reality of so many of our lives. We’re stressed. Pressed. We’re lacking time. And we (I) are most definitely lacking our needed dose of selfcare!

Once I became a mom to Chloé, catching some me time became scarce! (I don’t even have time to go to the bathroom somedays!) I’ve often felt gross and just dirty from changing diapers all day, bring spit up on, and not having the time to hop into the shower!

Whats up spooks?! HAPPY HALLOWEEN GUYS!

The older I get, the more fun I have with costumes & makeup on this wicked holiday! I love buying a costume/clothes that I would regularly wear, and just spicing it up with some good accessories & makeup! (Remember my pink unicorn from last year?! Same concept!) 

This year I headed to Lulus for my skeleton costume needs and found this black velvet dress! Perfect for Halloween & even more perfect to wear out on a date night! I totally scored with this dress! I also adore these boots and socks which I also scored at Lulus! (Also, if you remember my unicorn costume last year, it was all Lulus as well! They’re simply the best!)

For Chases costume, we decided that black on black was the way to go! Hole-y + distressed tee & jeans + the skell makeup and he’s good to go! 

I did our halloween makeup this year and it is in no way professional! But, after a few years of testing out Halloween makeup, I do have a few tips for you guys!  

1. Find a picture of Halloween makeup you like and copy it as best as you can! I continually look at the picture while doing my Halloween makeup and it helps a ton!!!!

2. Use as much real makeup as possible! (Aka don’t use the cheap stuff from the grocery store unless you have to!) Real makeup stays in place better, looks better, and feels better than the cheap Halloween makeup! (We did use cheap white cream that we found for $1.00 at target, but it was hard to work with! If you can find actual white makeup.. it’s going to look so much better!) You can shop the makeup we used/the makeup I recommend for this look below! 

3. Apply the makeup how you would regular makeup! Use brushes, bake your foundation, add detail, & BLEND the crap out of lines! I used foundation brushes, eye liner brushes, liquid eyeliner pens, and a beauty blender to complete our faces! 

4. TAKE YOUR SWEET TIME! Sure, you can throw the look on in 5 minutes, but if you go slow and pay attention to detail, it’s going to look soo much better! It took us 25 minutes to do our faces, and I honestly could have done better if I had the time! 

5. HAVE FUN! Be creative, get crazy, accentuate your features, and be unique! No two skells should be alike. (;

Teeth Whitening // Dentist // Tee // Denim

Hey guys <3 guess what?! I’m finally answering your questions! YOU always send tons of DMs & emails asking about my beauty routines, and I’m slowly but surely bringing them ALL to you! Ok, y’all are always asking if my teeth are edited/photo shopped, and the answer is NOO! My teeth definitely aren’t perfect (I’ve never had braces and would love to get veneers one day) BUUUUTTTT I honestly can’t complain! My shiny bright whites make up for it! 

The ONE beauty bust I honestly can’t live without is my TEETH WHITENING! Nothing makes me (or anyone) look and feel prettier/more confident than vivid white teeth! 

I’ve been whitening my teeth for years, and have searched high and low for the best product! Tooth paste, white strips, LED light whitening, natural charcoal products, baking soda, banana peels, professional whitening.. you name it, I’ve tried it! 

My dentist (Dr. Mark Fullmer at Art City Dental) had some teeth whitening at his office that he recommended to me a year and a half ago so I decided to try his whitening syringes out! He made me some trays (which are molds of my teeth, pictured above) and I got right to testing his whitening! 

I started using my whitening trays one hour a day two times a week (just in case I was sensitive) and noticed results THAT WEEK! Not only did I notice a difference, but so did my family and friends! ALL OF THEM! And they have all hopped on the whitening train too! 

Now I use my trays once (occasionally twice) a week for 3-4 hours at a time! My teeth have only experienced sensitivity once (and it was my bad, I left them in over night) and they haven’t been affected by the whitening other than getting brighter! To me this is a score!  (I’ve had products turn my mouth strange colors, eat away at my gums, not whiten at all, and make my teeth sensitive to no end. So bad.) This whitening is also really easy to use! I just push down on the syringe, point it into my trays, and then put them on! (The process is pictured above!) Sometimes I wear them out in public too since they’re clear! No one can even tell I’m wearing them!

You asked for it, so I'm bringing it! Everything you've ever asked about my hair is HERE! I'm a hair + extensions nazi.. so if you're the same then dig in to this post! 

For starters, YES I have extensions! I've had them for 7 years. NO, they are not damaging. My hair in the extensions is always longer & healthier than my hair out of the extensions!  

Right now I have 18" bonded extensions. (See picture above.) I've had both wefts and tapes in the past, but bonds are by far my favorite! They are low maintenance, they match your hair color perfectly, blend amazing, adds thickness and length, you can brush right over them, custom color them, go more time in between adjusting them.. bonds are literally everything! 

I had my bonded extensions done at Amara Day Spa and recommend them one billion percent! I've been going to Amara for my nails for years now, and have seen this service done on a few of their clients. I had always wanted to try this extension method out, and am kicking myself in the butt for not doing it sooner! I'm seriously soo happy with them! (Little side note, if you haven't been to Amara, you MUST go! It's the cutest high end salon in Utah county and I don't go anywhere else for most services! They do everything from hair to waxing to Botox! GO SEE THEM! Allssoo, Amara is the ONLY place I go to for nails! My girl Myka is THE BEST! She's the reason my nails are so long, healthy, and beautiful!) 

KK, back to hair! The picture above with my tongue out is my actual hair length! Yes, my hair is crazy short! If you're worried your natural hair is too short for extensions, then stop right now! Extensions can blend with any hair length!  

I've used just about every brand of extensions on the market and am currently using Racoon hair. (Amara has it at their salon!) Racoon hair is the softest, most natural looking, & prettiest hair I've ever used! It's also the priciest hair I've used, but it's worth it! (Racoon hair is Remy hair. I've only used Remy hair extensions and recommend you do the same as well! Remy is the best brand on the market!) 

I wash and dry my extensions exactly the same as I do my real hair. There's NO DIFFERENCE! For shampoo and conditioner I switch off between Kevin Murphys volume set (thickens hair) and Kevin Murphys purple shampoo set! I get them from my hair gal Natalie Mckell! She's located in Orem at Sola Salon! (She's the first booth in there, you can't miss her! Natalie cuts & dyes my hair and she's INCREDIBLE! I've been through a few girls and feel like Natalie is the best in the biz!) I also occasionally wash with Oribe products because they smell heavenly! Between Kevin Murphy & Oribe, I'm beyond taken care of! My favorite products from Oribe are the dry shampoo, the texturizing spray, and the matte waves texture serum. (I use these everyday) And my favorite products from Kevin Murphy are their root pump, de tangler, and their shimmer shine spray! 

The other products/tools I use on my hair are the Mason Pearson brush, the Dry Bar hair dryer and round brush, the GHD single pass straightener, and the T3 whirl trio! All of these products are INCREDIBLE. The only thing I'm itching to add to my collection is the new Dyson hair dryer! (I've heard amazing things about it. If you're looking for a new hair dryer, I'd try this puppy out!) 

When I Style my hair, I start with a wet head. Fresh and clean! I towel dry for a minute or two, then air dry for 10 minutes! I spray the de tangler on the ends of my hair and my extensions, and the root pump at the crown of my head! Then I start round brushing + blow drying until it's 100% dry! Next I run my straightener through my hair to make it look healthy and smooth! Then I grab my whirl trio and curl everything away from my face! Sometimes I alternate the curls direction, others I don't! Once it's curled I grab my Mason Pearson brush and fluff everything out! (This brush is amazing for fluff + hair health!) After that I add the Oribe texturizing lotion & spray to help it hold! And finally I finish it off with Kevin Murphys shine spray for a perfectly polished look! In my opinion product has A LOT to do with your hair, so I always recommend investing in good, long lasting tools and products! 

For my color I honestly don't know what to tell you. (Sorry guys!) I don't know much about hair dye, and I don't ask Natalie for a specific color! She just does what she thinks will look best and I trust her! You can definitely send her a DM through Instagram though and she can help you out! Her Instagram handle is @NatalieMckellHair! 

There's a bunch of other questions you guys have emailed me about, so I'm going to answer them quickly here! <3  

YES, you can wear your hair in a pony tail with extensions!  

YES, you can work out with them! Sweat won't hurt the extensions.

YES, you can swim with them! (I don't get in the chlorine much because I'm blonde, but it doesn't hurt the extensions!)  

NO, they don't hurt! I've heard some people have been sensitive after getting them in for the first time, but I never have with any method!  

No, they don't look fake. Some DO, but if you get good hair, and have someone who knows what they're doing putting them in, they'll look amazing! Once again, I recommend the bonded method, Racoon hair or any Remy hair, and Amara salon can do this all for you!  

No, I do not lose pieces of hair! (I have with tape ins once, but once in 7 years is amazing!) If your hard on you hair, I recommend getting bonds or wefts, not tapes!  

No, they are NOT hard to style! In fact, they are easier than real hair! They hold curl much better than real hair and the curls last for days!  

YES, if you really want me to I'll upload a video of how I curl my hair. But FAIR WARNING I'm SUPER AWKWARD and it won't be anything amazing! Soo if you want a sups awks hair video tutorial, leave a comment below!

Hello loves & HAPPY FRIDAY!! What are y'all doing this weekend?! 

Ok, a week and a half ago I was on my Instagram story telling you guys about this amazing makeup I just tried from The Perfect Face! (This should sound familiar to most of you because I had a jillion emails come in after posting the video clips!) 

I have always had a love/hate relationship with makeup. I want to be fully covered, yet natural looking. I have struggled with that balance my entire life!! I have extremely oily skin, and growing up would often look orange an hour after applying my makeup because of my oils! And then I'd have to go to the bathroom, try to cover it with powder, which would make my face look cakey, and it would result back to orangey oiliness within an hour. (I'm not kidding. People would make fun of me for it. And it lasted for 6 years.. It. Sucked.) 

Then one day (hallelujah + pwaise the lawd) Utah Valley got a Sephora and I basically moved in! Being able to test out different makeup/products (alongside my proactiv face wash) saved me and my orange self. (God bless you sephora & all your samples!) 

Fast forward a couple of years to NOW and I finally understand makeup! I still have problems with makeup (like I occasionally turn myself orange and mess up,) but hey, I'm getting better with each passing day! 

The biggest struggle I've had with makeup this last year is that I always seem to look younger than I'd like. I'm a married woman, and want to look/feel like a woman! (My body is similar to a 12 year old boys shape/size & my face looks about 18 years old.) These aren't bad things!.. But some days, I just really want to look & feel like a mature, empowered, sexy woman. 

Rewind two weeks ago and the ups guy drops a package off from The Perfect Face. (Makeup!) I'm going to be honest, I'm wasn't  expecting much, but I was excited to try it!

The next morning I use the entire line while getting ready and I instantly started noticing differences!! A little went a long way with EVERYTHING! All of the makeup had incredible coverage without looking cakey, and my face was practically glowing! (If you saw my Instagram story from that day, you'll understand what I mean by glowy!) 

When Chase saw me after I had the makeup on, he realized something was different. Which is a huge deal! Since when do guys notice things like that?! NEVER! 

I gained something very important from this makeup. Somehow, after it was all applied, I looked more like a woman. (& I wasn't even wearing my vs bombshell.) I don't really know how to explain it, but I did. I could see it, my husband could see it, I was rocking this hot confidence for the rest of the day, it was amazing! It's exactly what I've been looking for this past year! <3

Just a quick background on The Perfect Face: this is the makeup that is used for the Miss USA pageants. It's created to look fresh throughout the entire day, cover fully, and last a lifetime. 

I can honestly say I love every single one of these products. I wanted to share my favorite three with you guys today! The highlighter, the blush, and the lipstick!  

The Highlighter has the most incredible shine. I swept it over my nose and cheeks once and that was all I needed! Same with the blush. Three sweeps across my cheeks and I was golden! The lipstick is my absolute favorite though. It has these brown tones in it that are truly beautiful.. I wear it every day now! I also think the coloring in the blush and lipstick are key factors to making me look more woman like. I could be wrong, but I think there's a high possibility it could be these two products!

The secret to better looking (and better smelling) hair isn't much of a secret anymore! <3 I found Oribes line about a year ago while I was visiting a local blow dry bar and instantly became hooked to their line! (It smelled like heaven, it felt amazing, and my hair was shiny for days!) 

I googled Oribe right after my appointment and ordered everything the blow dry gal had used on me. (Gold lust shampoo + conditioner & their oil.) Since then I've added a few more of their products to my routine, like their texturizing spray & dry shampoo! (Anndd their perfume bc it just smells too friggen good.)

Those of you who have followed the blog for a while know that I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for." Guys, quality over quantity any day! I swear in the long run, it's always worth it! Wether it's a pair of jeans that are more durable, or a foundation that last longer, there's always a reason for the price, and the reason is it's WORTH it! Oribes products are pricier than some, but man oh man are they worth it! 

Oribes shampoo & conditioner not only make my hair look/feel better, but also lasts longer than any other washes & rinses I've ever used! My hair stays cleaner longer, so I'm not washing as often. I also don't need as much product to get the job done!  

In the past, I would use oil on my hair every single day! (You kind of have to with extensions!) But with Oribes oil, I only need to apply it once per wash and my hair stays looking glossy and beautiful! ( and I wash every 4-5 days.. so that lasting shine is impressive! Also, don't judge how long I go in between washes hahaa!) With the dry shampoo I use, I could even go longer! (But that's disgusting so I don't!) I use Oribes dry shampoo every other day and my hair looks and smells as good as the day I washed it every time! And if it ever looks too clean, or needs a lil umph, I add the texturizing spray! It adds volume, texture, and a bit of stick to style! (I can't go anywhere without the dry shampoo or the texturizing spray.. I carry the travel sizes with me in my purse!) 

Oribe also has a few new products that I'm DYING to get my hands on! They have a new shampoo + conditioner called Silverati that works like a purple shampoo! (Tones the yellow down and brings out the cool tones!) The other product I need to try out is called Matte Waves! Supposedly it gives your hair that hot, voluminous, beach waved look! And let's be honest, that's pretty much the only look that matters right now!

The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year is among us, (finally <3) and I HAD to share my favorite beauty products for this season! (& every season!)

I've raved about Cle' De Peaus cosmetics time & time again, but today I'm breaking it down for you!

Keeping it Sunday appropriate with this beautiful lace dress & leather jacket that I snagged from Bella Ella Boutique! This gorgeous little number also comes in maroon & black, (hello fall) and I may or may not have it in all 3 colors! Decisions are rough guys! (;

Aside from this outfit, I have to share another purchase that I'm crazy about right now! This Klorane Dry Shampoo! 

Many of you would agree when I say that washing/drying your hair SUCKS! (Men don't know how good they have it!)  Most women go a few days inbetween washing their hair, which is GREAT! (It's healthy to keep your natural oils in & will actually help your hair grow!) BUUTT, some women aren't as fortunate and have to wash daily! 

I was one of those "daily" washers until I turned 17 and discovered baby powder. AKA the universal solvent to all my problems. Hair oily? Baby powder. Shoes smelly? Baby powder. Face shiny? Baby powder. It seriously works for everything! I still LOVE baby powder and use it for just about everything!.. But, I have definitely been made fun of for it in the past. And you constantly smell like a babies bottom. (And if you ask my dad or Chase, that's not the most pleasant smell hahaa!) 

To rid of my baby bottom scent, I've been on the search for a new product to help my hair & replace the baby powder! And I FINALLY found one! I was at Sephora snagging some makeup and saw an entire section filled with products to try! And since Sephora has an amazing return policy, I snagged 4 and tested each one out to see what worked the best! 

There was NO COMP! This Klorane dry shampoo KILLED the others! It has an amazing, natural scent, It has a very clean + dry feel on my scalp, It has tons of power, And it lasted longer than the others! (I only have to use it once every 2 days!) And the best part about it is that I've noticed my hair starting to GROW! I didn't realize it before, but I'm positive the baby powder was damaging my hair!

Chase & I both have used Proactiv for years, and I don't think we'll ever switch! Occasially I'll try something new, but nothing works quite like Proactiv!

Aight bb's <3 today I wanted to share 2 of my very favorite people that are game changers when it comes to beauty! 

If you follow me on snapchat & Instagram, you should know about my obsession with EYEBROWS! 

Eyebrows are literally everything! The shape, length, and color frame your face and make a huge difference when it comes to your appearance! 

I first had my eyebrows tattooed/microbladed 3 years ago! I did my research for a few months until I found someone who's work I loved! 

Alanna Precis of Precis Brows was who I found and have stuck with ever since! SHES ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! She makes you feel completely comfortable, she talks you through everything so you understand exactly what she's doing, she can perfectly see & explain what shape/size/color you need by your face shape and coloring, and so much more. Alanna is an artist, and she only creates masterpieces. Seriously. 

My most recent appointment with her (2 weeks ago) was a little different than usual! I normally just have her do her thang, but this time I threw in a couple of suggestions. (I really wanted to go thicker and illuminate my high arch.) We are both in love with how they turned out and we couldn't be any happier! (Well, unless it was real eyebrow hair hahaa!) 

I often check out other brow artists, and honestly, not a single one comes close to Alanna. GUYS, I want what's best for all of us! And simply put, Alanna is the best of the best. If you're considering upping your brow game in any way, shape, or form, YOU NEED PRECIS BROWS! 

Another artist I'm in love with right now is my Eyelash Extensions girl, Brianna Mason! 

Ahh I don't even know where to begin with this girl! SHE IS SO SO GOOD! And sweet. And nice. And kind. And amazing. 

Until Bri, I didn't even like eyelash extensions! They usually hurt, take too much time & money, ruin my real eyelashes, and look horribly unnatural! BUT NOT BRIS! <3 She uses the best products that not only look natural, but are extremely light weight! (They don't irritate or effect me at all!) Her lashes look good forever!.. Even when they start falling out! And when the lashes fall off, they don't pull my natural lash with them which is is HUGE BONUS! Some people can't even tell that they are extensions! THEY ARE THAT GOOD PEOPLE! 

Eyelash extensions should draw attention to your eyes, not the extensions! And that's exactly what Bri does! <3 

I can't begin to tell you how many compliments I receive on both my brows and lashes daily! I feel like it's important to share my gals with you all because if you're getting either of these things done, you need to go to someone who can do it right! THE FIRST TIME! Someone who is a professional, who knows what they're doing, and who LOVES what they do! These ladies are the best in Utah, no competition whatsoever! <3

One of the things I do before applying my makeup or trying something new is search for inspiration photos/tutorials. I have a board on Pinterest that is chucked full of different looks that I often browse while getting ready! Below you can find my favorite ones! <3 They are easy to follow and have simple break downs! Enjoy! <3

Eyes & Brows

Brows are my absolute FAVORITE! They truly make or break your face! The evolution of these babies amaze me.. They’ve been pencil thin, barely there, sharpied on, and so much more! Right now I’m obsessing over a brow that has a “fade” to it. (or an ombré effect) It starts out lighter/sparse and ends being darker/thick. I’m also obsessing over a thick natural brow! Many of us aren’t so fortunate and don’t have this, but you can definitely create a perfect fraud with makeup!

Now, if you’re someone who doesn’t have much brow hair (or shape) I HIGHLY recommend getting your brows microbladed! I had mine done for the first time 3 years ago and it was the biggest GAME CHANGER! (I get mine done at Salon Precis by Alanna Precis! SHE’S UNREAL!) 

Eyeshadow/Eyeliner makes the world of a difference as well! During the day, I only wear MATTE COLORS! Night time is when you’re allowed to bust out the shimmer! 

One thing I stay away from with eyeshadow is adding shimmer colors to the crease of my eye! The shimmer defines/pops wrinkles and can make your eyes look quite a bit older! (Who wants that?!) For a night/bombshell/smokey eye look I’ll occasional add shimmer to my crease. I do this about once a month! (If that!)

Below you can see the faded/ombré brows, some shadows I’m crushing on, and some very simple winged liner! 

Lips

Oh the beauty of lips! <3 I used to not care/think much about lips. But then one day I had a makeup artist highlight & contour my lips! GUYS, MY WORLD WAS CHANGED! & LIPS ARE SOO IMPORTANT! 

I have three different ways I do my lips. I like to keep them somewhat consistent and natural looking. My three methods are; 1. I line, highlight, and contour them with a lip liner pencil and finish with a gloss & lip plumper. 2. I simply apply one lipstick and fin. Or 3. I slap on my burts bees chapstick and call it good! 

I love the look of a full lip, but I also love the look of a natural/thin lip. For this reason, I will never get lip filler! If the trends were to change and I was stuck with Kylie Jenner lips, I don’t know what I’d do! I feel like makeup is a better AND safer route when it comes to the lippies! 

Below is my favorite lip contour guide! I don’t always do each and every line, but I do always add the X no matter what! It makes the cupids bow stand out!!!! <3

Highlight & Contour

Highlighting & contouring is by far MY FAVORITE part of my makeup routine! It makes the biggest difference and is incredibly fun to experiment with! 

I use two creams & a beauty blender to highlight and contour my face. If I’m going for a more dramatic look I’ll finish it off with highlight & contour powder!

Below you will see three pictures that I follow exactly! They are from one of my friends who is a professional makeup artist and has given me a few lessons/tips throughout the years! 

Finished Looks <3

I love discovering pictures with different looks and trying them out on myself! Ive found its the best way to get better at applying makeup! Wether it’s a different brow shape, a bold lip, a natural vibe, or a complete bombshell look, I LOVE trying them all! 

I recommend gathering a handful of favorite looks before experimenting! Below are some of my favorites! They are all different but beautiful! 

Another thing I’d recommend doing is finding one person who you can relate to/think is stunning who’s looks you can recreate on yourself! 

For example; I adore Natalie Portman, Emma Watson, and Kendall Jenner, but I don’t have many similarities to these beauties. (Cry) BUUTT I do have similarities to Candice Swanepoel, Julianne Hough, and Alena Shishkova! I often look to these women when trying out a new look! ESPECIALLY ALENA! I love her in just about every look possible! (And let’s be honest, to look like her would be a dream!) 

Random makeup advice/tips: 

Less is more.

Do your makeup in natural light/sunlight.

BE SOFT. Don’t press, brush, or blend hard. 

Aim to blend. Avoid creating lines/stripes.

Exfoliate your face at least once a week.

Pluck your brows every now and then. (Or have them waxed regularly)

Don’t try a new look for the first time for an important event. (Seriously) 

Go at least one day a week makeup free. 1. You’re beautiful & 2. Your skin needs a day to breathe!

DON’T do the same thing everyday. Switch up your look AND your products often.

Keep in mind that makeup is supposed to enhance your natural beauty. Don’t change your overall look! YOU ARE UNIQUE AND BEAUTIFUL <3

Brushes: Some people swear that certain brushes make a huge difference when it comes to makeup. I have both high & low end brushes and honestly haven’t noticed much of a difference in quality/application. However, I DO notice a HUGE difference when I use clean brushes vs. dirty ones! I try to wash mine every two to three weeks! (And if I had more time, I’d do it weekly!) CLEAN YOUR BRUSHES LADIES! (And your beauty blenders too! <3) 

There’s always a handful of beauty products I’m dying to buy & try! Below are some products on my current list/some of my favorite beauty products that I use everyday! This makeup brush set & air brush system are two things I DYING to get my hands on the second I’m feeling rich!
